Job Title: GC Estimator (General Contractor)
Location: Peco Road, Lahore
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Morning (9-6PM)
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of US-based experience
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced GC Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hands-on experience in estimating for General Contracting projects in the United States. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, assessing project risks, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. Your experience with US construction standards and practices will be crucial for this role.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to develop accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather required information for estimates.
- Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and incorporate these into the estimates.
- Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain accurate pricing for materials and services.
- Track and analyze project costs and budgets, providing updates as needed.
- Participate in bid review meetings and assist in finalizing competitive bids for clients.
- Ensure all estimates comply with relevant US building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and software tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Provide post-award support to project teams as needed to ensure alignment between estimates and actual costs.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of US-based experience in estimating for General Contracting projects.
- Strong understanding of US construction processes, standards, and building codes.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with cost control and budgeting processes in construction.
- Previous experience working with General Contractors on commercial or residential projects in the US.
